			<description><![CDATA[As you know, much time has been spent in the last year working on many aggressive changes to the inner workings of the Zen Cart core.<br />
We went on record more than a year ago saying that we would release the new major version in 2008, based on a number of optimistic factors. Clearly, 2008 is quickly winding to a close. It's unlikely that a release will be ready in December. Instead, January seems more likely. However, we wanted to give you an idea of what to expect in the upcoming 2.0 release.<br />
<br />
Speed<br />
As mentioned in previous Roadmap posts, an emphasis has been placed on improving performance by various methods, especially reducing the number of database queries required for processing pages.<br />
<br />
Code<br />
For the programmers among us, you'll be happy to know that the code has been largely converted to a much more efficient OOP structure, which will ultimately end up making future growth much simpler.<br />
<br />
Templating<br />
Templating is much simpler, in that the complicated PHP blocks that used to make them so hard to read or follow or customize have been removed.<br />
Stylesheets are leaner. And there are some very easy-to-use admin-side layout controls to make setting your desired layouts *much* simpler.<br />
<br />
Overrides<br />
The same override system exists for templates and language files, meaning that those already familiar with that part of the directory structure will find it easy to continue using.<br />
<br />
Languages<br />
UTF-8 support is now native, and the more complicated language files have been simplified and split off into their own for easier management.<br />
<br />
Written for PHP 5<br />
Zen Cart 2.0 takes advantage of features specific to PHP 5.2 and MySQL 4.1, thus, those are the new minimum requirements for your hosting service to provide in order to run it. CURL is also highly recommended.<br />

    * Core gateway payment modules allow use of a store-identifier-prefix so multiple stores can be more easily identified when sharing a single merchant account.<br />
    * Improvements to data made available to affiliate tracking systems on checkout_success<br />
    * Order Data now separates first-name and last-name, as well as storing telephone numbers for each address<br />
    * Now even more detailed information is stored with each order, making it easier to reconstruct an order as at the original point in time when it was created. It's now less dependent on original product details being present in the database.<br />
    * Attribute data is now stored with orders in such a way as to retrieve the data so that it always shows up in the same order in which it was added to the order initially. This prevents some confusion which used to occur when multiple rows of text attributes were added but showed in mixed order.<br />
    * Configuration simplification: configure.php file contents abbreviated. Commonly-untouched components moved to common_paths.php file, which loads after configure.php and is thus overridable by defines in configure.php<br />

Here is my short overvew of OXID Community Edition installation. How I discover, with OXIDE CE Package is only German installation howto. So I wrote myself on in english. Its not the best, but still something.<br />

    * Apache Version 1.3 or above<br />
    * at least 100 MB of free webspace<br />
    * an installed mod_rewrite module<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;">MySQL</span><br />
    * MySQL 5.0.33 or above<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;">PHP</span><br />
    * PHP 5.2.0 or above. Due to performance matters, we recommend to use PHP 5.2.6 or above.<br />
    * Set memory_limit at least to 14 MB. We recommend a memory_limit of 30MB.<br />
    * Activate allow_url_fopen or  fsockopen to port 80<br />
    * Set Apache server variables REQUEST_URI or SCRIPT_URI<br />
    * Switch off PHP4 compatibility mode. (zend.ze1_compatibility_mode = Off)<br />
    * ini_set allowed<br />
    * register_globals off<br />
    * The following PHP-extensions that must be installed:<br />
          o GD LIB Version 2.x<br />
          o MySQL-Modul für MySQL 5<br />
          o bcmath<br />
          o JSON<br />
          o php-xml<br />
          o libxml2<br />
          o iconv-extension<br />

Overview of the possible operating conditions which are based on the following assumptions:<br />
    * Number of categories is 20% of the number of items, e.g. 1,000 items = 200 categories<br />
    * The flow of visitors is distributed over more than 14 hours per day on average<br />
    * The item number also includes possible item variants<br />
    * Note: Reduced functionality may be experienced during some intensive activities (e.g. exporting) – this depends on your provider (keywords PHP max_execution_time and memory_limit).<br />

Now download the latest stable OXID CE package from <a href="http://www.oxid-esales.com/en/download/open-source-ecommerce-solution-oxid-eshop-community-edition" target="_blank">http://www.oxid-esales.com/</a><br />
<br />
Unpack this package and upload all files to your webserver:<br />

Its takes time - so You can take break and make cofee...<br />

Now - before we going forward, we need to change some files and folder permissions.<br />
When this is done, then open Your preferred web browser (I like Firefox) and point it to your OXID CE install directory, where You upload files. Lets say it is <a href="http://yoyrdomain.com/oxidce/install" target="_blank">http://yoyrdomain.com/oxidce/install</a><br />
You are now at installation wizard Welcome page<br />

Choose your language for installation and eShop and also Your shop country. Then press <span style="font-weight: bold;">Start Installation</span> button.<br />

Now You need to confirm, that You accepting GNU license. Mark the - "I accept license conditions" and press then <span style="font-weight: bold;">Continue</span> button.<br />

Now we are at database setup. You need to fill the fallowing fields (I am recommending to make first empty database in Your server administration panel and not to use automatic database creation - most users don't have root access to the database!)  :<br />
Database hostname or IP - usually is this "localhost"<br />
Database name - yourdatabasename. <br />
Database username - yourdatabaseusername<br />
Database password - yourdatabasepassword<br />

You can also let the installer to add some demo products to database. For first time it is recommended, then You can understand better how products work in OXID CE.<br />

When this is done - press <span style="font-weight: bold;">Create database now</span> button.<br />

Now next screen:<br />

Here You can change the directory where You installing OXID CE shop. These fields are filled already and at most cases You only need to check, that these are right and You can press <span style="font-weight: bold;">Save and continue</span> button.<br />

Now delete the setup folder from Your webserver:<br />

This version does NOT yet have the <a href="http://forum.opencart.com/index.php/topic,2078.msg11639.html#msg11639" target="_blank">New Paypal Concept</a>. We are looking for a few volunteers to try the new paypal concept with RC4 to see if people like the new process method or not.<br />
<br />
If we get enough people to test it and all is at least "better" than the old method. Then we will look to include it in the RC5 release. After that we will go final (assuming no new major bugs)<br />
